Director Jyothi Krisna Reinvents Bobby Deol’s Aurangzeb in Hari Hara Veera Mallu After Animal

NewsDirector Jyothi Krisna Reinvents Bobby Deol’s Aurangzeb in Hari Hara Veera Mallu After Animal

Bobby Deol’s silent storm in Animal didn’t just captivate audiences — it inspired a filmmaker to reimagine history. After witnessing Bobby’s powerful, dialogue-free performance, director Jyothi Krisna felt compelled to revisit the portrayal of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in his upcoming historical epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. The much-anticipated period action drama is all set to release in theatres on July 24.

“Bobby Deol’s performance in Animal was spellbinding,” shares Jyothi Krisna. “The way he conveyed so much through sheer expression — without dialogue — was remarkable. It opened up new creative possibilities for Aurangzeb’s character in our film.” Although Bobby had already shot several scenes, Jyothi Krisna returned to the script, restructuring the character’s personality, backstory, and emotional arc to better reflect Bobby’s evolved artistry. The result? A darker, more magnetic Aurangzeb — silent yet seething, restrained yet ruthless.

“When I narrated the revised version, Bobby was thrilled. He’s an actor who embraces reinvention. In Hari Hara Veera Mallu, he’s fiercer, more elegant, and hauntingly intense. His eyes speak volumes, and his presence lingers long after the scene ends,” the director adds.

Produced by legendary filmmaker A.M. Ratnam and A. Dayakar Rao under the banners of Mega Surya Production, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is mounted on a grand scale, with music by Academy Award-winning composer M.M. Keeravani, and costumes designed by the renowned Neeta Lulla.

Set against the backdrop of the Mughal era, the film promises a cinematic spectacle filled with action, emotion, and layered storytelling — bringing to life the legend of Veera Mallu and the power dynamics of the time. With Pawan Kalyan in the titular role and Bobby Deol as a reimagined Aurangzeb, audiences can expect a powerful face-off soaked in style and substance.

As the countdown to July 24 begins, Hari Hara Veera Mallu stands tall — not just as a period film, but as a saga of reinvention, vision, and cinematic grandeur.
