What was pitched as a power sector reform is now under scrutiny by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for large-scale corruption in Bihar.According to ThePrint, Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd. won a ₹3,300 crore contract (2022–23) to install smart meters across Bihar. The ED alleges that ₹60 crore was routed as kickbacks to IAS officer Sanjeev Hans through subcontracting to his controlled firms. He served as CMD of Bihar State Power Holding Co. Ltd.
